Global Entrepreneurship Week

The first component relates to the Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW), which takes place in the second week of November annually. The USG Alumni Entrepreneurship program aims to mobilise the Armenian entrepreneurial community to take active part in the Global Entrepreneurship Week by participating in activities taking place around the world, as well as organizing their own events locally or virtually. In 2022, three of the events that took place within the framework of the Global Entrepreneurship Week were organized in Armenia;

For GEW 2023 American Councils will support the alumni in organizing the activities they would like to lead within the framework and theme of the Week.

National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Week 2023, April 17-21

Initiated by the National Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and the American Councils Office in Armenia, the National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Week aims to empower, connect and support Entrepreneurs in Armenia, as well as to emphasize the scientific and innovation potential of Armenia.

The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Week encourages the broad definition of Entrepreneurship. “Entrepreneurship is creating value for others, which is sustainable. The value created can be economic, social, or cultural.” We want to uplift, celebrate, and encourage USG Alumni engaged in creating all kinds of values for others!

During the National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Week we are supporting USG Alumni to share their story of creating value for others, developing businesses, and innovating in their fields and within the organizations/businesses they work. Below are some examples of ways to engage with the Week:

Teach: Facilitate an educational webinar or workshop for your local community. We'll share it!

Showcase: Uplift an entrepreneur or other USG Alumni in your community by inviting them to speak as a guest expert.

Network: Host a networking event for entrepreneurs, USG Alumni, and other members of your local community.

Support: Make a commitment to shop local and support businesses in your community.

The initiative has been born within the USG Alumni Entrepreneurship Program. The Program is funded by the US Embassy and administered by the American Councils Office in Armenia.
